Average receipt by county

Istria €53.91, Dubrovnik-Neretva €44.55, Primorje-Gorski Kotar €32.64, Split-Dalmatia €30.08, Zadar €27.09, Šibenik-Knin €23.81, Lika-Senj €22.89, City of Zagreb €11.95.

Why they differ

Area I combines accommodation and food service. A county where more of the summer money is paid for accommodation shows a higher average receipt than one where most receipts are for coffee and meals, so the average describes the mix of businesses as much as the prices.

Source and method

Porezna uprava, fiscalization reporting portal, area I by county, August 2026, retrieved on 29 September 2026. Figures follow the premises where the receipt was issued, not the company's registered seat. The portal publishes these figures for further use with the source cited.

Takeaway

An average receipt shows what kind of business a region really runs. For a single venue the same number, tracked daily, shows whether the season is working.
