1. What are cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website places in the visitor's browser. Cookies are used to store information about the session, settings and behaviour on the site.
2. Which cookies we use
Functional cookies (essential): set automatically because the site or the application does not work properly without them. On getpatrono.com these are NEXT_LOCALE (the selected language, deleted when the browser closes), patrono_consent (your analytics choice, value analytics or none, 6 months, for getpatrono.com and its subdomains) and patrono_marketing (your ad measurement choice, value yes or no, 6 months, for getpatrono.com and its subdomains). In the application they are used for login and basic settings.
Analytics: on getpatrono.com, except on our US pages (getpatrono.com/us), PostHog does not load until you answer the notice. For the US pages, the cookie policy at getpatrono.com/us/cookies applies. If you accept analytics, PostHog sets the cookie ph_phc_pPffrtSay7WzTVzs6W64YM6pk7PedAVScNrUf3omBHRW_posthog (an anonymous browser and session identifier, 1 year, for getpatrono.com and its subdomains) and keeps the same record in the browser's local storage (localStorage); for the session and the window it keeps ph_phc_pPffrtSay7WzTVzs6W64YM6pk7PedAVScNrUf3omBHRW_… records in sessionStorage, deleted when the tab closes; and we keep the source of the visit for the sign-up and login links and for forms in sessionStorage under patrono_attribution until you close the tab. If you decline analytics, PostHog counts visits without cookies and without local storage. In the application (app.getpatrono.com), PostHog works without cookies and without local storage: the data exists only in memory while the page is open. Details are in the privacy policy, section 5.
Marketing cookies: on getpatrono.com, Google Tag Manager, the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tags do not load until you accept marketing. After you consent, Meta sets _fbp (a browser identifier, 90 days) and, if you arrived by clicking an ad on Facebook or Instagram, _fbc (the ID of that click, 90 days). Google sets _gcl_au (90 days) and, if you arrived by clicking a Google ad, _gcl_aw (the ID of that click, 90 days). These cookies apply to getpatrono.com and its subdomains. When you then sign up, the application reads _fbp and _fbc and sends them to Meta with the sign-up notification. Details are in the privacy policy, section 11.
3. How to disable cookies
You can change your analytics and marketing choice for getpatrono.com at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the page footer. If you withdraw consent for analytics, we delete PostHog's cookies and records from the browser and keep counting visits without cookies. If you withdraw consent for marketing, we delete the Meta and Google cookies and no longer load them. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking functional cookies will prevent login to the application.
